A defense force soldier was hit by a truck on the N12 in Johannesburg on Tuesday morning during a lockdown roadblock metro police stated.
Metro police spokesperson Wayne Minnaar said the incident occurred at a roadblock on the N12 east during a joint operation by the SANDF, metro police, and SAPS.
Minnaar said the driver of the truck allegedly lost control of the truck and veered off the road hitting the soldier around 7 am on Tuesday.
The extent of injuries sustained by the soldier is still not known.
Minnaar said traffic was being diverted.
The defense force spokesperson Capt Thabo Sello confirmed the accident but did not reveal more information.
